Heading 1: How is the modern workforce different from that of the past?
The difference between the modern workforce and the past is the speed of technology and the number of workers there are in the workforce at one time. According to the course textbook, it states, “The globalization of the world and the rapid speed of technological innovation have changed how people work and with whom they interact” (Weathington & Weathington, 2020).
Another difference is that it is no longer uncommon to have women working alongside men, and there has been a significant increase in both ethnicity and national origin of workers, all of which have created a more diverse group of workers (2020). There are five different generations of employees in the workforce. The five generationally different employees are the Silent Generation, Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennials, or Generation Y and Generation Z.
